Service Description

The Basic Wellness and Diabetes blood screen entails a 15 minute appointment with the Health Care Assistant to get basic screen of blood tests, as well as a test called HBA1C which can indicate signs of diabetes. The blood tests taken will include: Full blood count Glucose test Kidney function Liver function Bone profile (excluding Vitamin D ) Cholesterol profile HBA1C. We would recommend a this as a fasting test. This means that you should not eat (fast) from midnight the night before your appointment until after your blood has been taken. You can still take any medication that you would normally take in the morning, but only with water, no tea or coffee. ​The tests will be reviewed by a doctor and results provided as an email in 5 working days. If you wish to discuss the results with a GP over the telephone, please book our 'Follow up telephone consultation' service for at least 5 days after your blood test. Request to book this service online, and a member of our administrative team will be in contact with you to finalise the appointment details.
