The Basic Wellness and Diabetes Screen consists of a

15 minute  appointment with the health care assistant for:  

• HBA1C

• glucose

• kidney

• liver

• bone profile (excluding Vitamin D)

• cholesterol profile

• full blood count

 

HBA1C and Glucose blood checks are used to exclude/screen for/monitor diabetes control.

We would recommend a this as a fasting test. This means that you should not eat (fast) from midnight the night before your appointment until after your blood has been taken. You can still take any medication that you would normally take in the morning, but only with water, no tea or coffee.

The tests will be reviewed by a Doctor and  results provided as an email in 5 working days.  

 

If you wish to discuss the results with a GP over the telephone, please book our 'Follow up telephone consultation' service for at least 5 days after your blood test.

With your consent, a summary of the consultation will be sent to your own NHS GP to keep your medical records up to date.
